Referral Process
We value our collaboration with referring therapists and see ourselves acting in a time-limited and specific role. We know how much time and care go into developing therapeutic relationships based on mutual trust and concern. This is especially true with populations struggling to form deep and enduring relationships with others.
We believe it is part of our role to support and nurture those individual therapeutic relationships. We specifically formed Approach because, as individual therapists ourselves, we recognize the critical importance of the group milieu in the treatment of these individuals.
We prefer that our clients already have an established relationship with an individual therapist. If a client is currently working with an individual therapist, we will not provide individual therapy to that client before or after their treatment. We will only provide individual therapy to an Approach client if they do not have an existing relationships with an individual therapist. In these cases, we may refer to someone affiliated with our team or, where appropriate, to an outside therapist we believe would be a good fit for the client.
To support continuity of care, referring providers will receive weekly updates on their client’s progress, including any essential information relevant to their success in our program and ongoing group therapy.
